A Proven Curriculum

Lower School:
Four year olds identifying continents...Five-year olds celebrating the first flight by the Wright Brothers...First graders reading fluently...Second graders writing paragraphs...Third graders identifying bones of the human body.. Fourth graders preparing for a medieval feast...Fifth graders reenacting a civil war battle...and that's just some of the excitement! Laurens Academy's kindergarten and elementary students begin their college preparation using "Open Court," a phonics based reading curriculum, "Saxon Math", and "Core Knowledge".

"The Core Knowledge Sequence," a nationally successful curriculum, provides hands-on experiences in literature, history, geography, world cultures, and science. Teachers travel annually to the National Core Knowledge Conference to attend workshops and share their ideas with teachers from all over the country.

Middle School:
All Middle School Students attend Music, Art, Physical Education, Computer, and Spanish once per week during their Activity Period. In addition, students have the opportunity to learn sewing and cooking in Home Economics class.
