For the 2016-2017 school year, Jostens announced an ad selling competition for upstate schools. This competition caused Mrs. Davenport’s yearbook students to go above and beyond the normal sales goal. The school that sold more ads than the previous year was awarded seven hundred dollars in computer or camera equipment. The yearbook staff beat out over ninety schools to win this prize. Mrs. Davenport opted for a drone. This will be a great asset for outdoor sporting events, school functions, and promotional videos. Along with the school competition, there was an individual competition. 10th grader Julia Kerber sold twenty-nine ads to win the same price package. However, instead of a drone, she opted for an iPad. This was a great accomplishment for the school and for Julia.
