Dual-Enrollment at Laurens Academy

Laurens Academy joins forces with USC-Union and Piedmont Technical College to offer Dual-Enrollment credit to our high school juniors and seniors. Current Students have had an opportunity to receive college credit for English, French, statistics, pre-calculus, American History, Psychology,  art history, government and computer science. Laurens Academy students have been participating in Dual-Enrollment since the 2000-2001 school year.  Earning college credits has enabled students to gain valuable experience with college professors and to practice skills needed at the college level. Students enter the college arena with options of graduating early, choosing double majors, taking higher loads for better grades, or just enrolling in courses they enjoy.

Courses we choose to offer are transferable to all South Carolina Public Institutions.  If attending a private college or university, check their dual-enrollment acceptance policy.  Our experience shows that all clourses have transferred for core or elective credit, except at Erskine College and Furman University. Check out CHE approved course list from Piedmont Technical College.

Congratulations to the Class of 2008.  Most of these seniors will have earned 36 college credits and will enter college this fall as sophomores.
