Founded in 1994 by Til Culbertson, Laurens Academy is entering its 14th year. We have grown from 10 to 250 students. The families we represent reside in Laurens, Greenville, Spartanburg, Union, Newberry and Greenwood Counties.

 

Laurens Academy provides a comprehensive college preparatory education in a Christian environment. Our goal is to teach the whole child. We have said many times, “Developing the Whole Child is our Business." We want to develop the academic, athletic, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of each student. Like any private school our first years have been like a roller-coaster ride. However, God is sovereign and has always provided for our needs.

 

We have a family atmosphere here that has an undying spirit. We always say, “We have good kids because we have good parents." I want to thank our parents and friends for their prayers and all their work to help make us who we are today.

 

With six graduating classes, we have been blessed with the fact that all of our graduates have been accepted into college. Laurens Academy has a graduate that guards the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” in Washington DC, another that pilots for Richard Petty Racing’s air fleet, and one who has a recording contract with Sony’s Flicker Records and is currently touring with his band Eleventyseven. Others are in college working towards bachelors or graduate degrees or working in their chosen fields in different areas of the country.
